Frequently Asked Questions

Why salt therapy?

We use medical-grade salt and a halogenerator to grind it into a fine powder. In other words, this ain’t your grandma’s table salt. Salt therapy is a relaxing, natural way to care for your body inside and out. Salt absorbs impurities in the skin, reduces inflammation, exfoliates, and encourages healthy skin regeneration. The fine salt dust dries mucus and helps clean out your airways.

What does salt therapy help with?

Salt therapy helps relieve allergies, sinus problems, asthma, COPD, and other lung issues. Guests are able to breathe easier, feel healthier, and have softer skin. It’s even helped with conditions like acne and psoriasis after consistent use.

How safe is dry salt therapy?

Salt therapy is 100% natural and we only use medical-grade salt. The treatment is a drug-free and non-invasive way to improve overall wellness, skin, and mental well being.

How often do you recommend a visit?

To see optimal health results, we recommend 3-4 visits per week for those with chronic issues. Weekly sessions are ideal for thsoe looking to incorporate halotherapy into their regular wellness routine. Salt therapy is like a vitamin; your system will see the most benefits with long-term, consistent use. Everyone responds differently to wellness treatments, so some may see results more quickly than others. And if you’re just using salt therapy to relax – well, that’s always in style.

Do I need to bring anything to the session?

Most people go barefoot in the salt room, but you are welcome to bring a pair of socks to wear. The salt is naturally antibacterial! You are welcome to bring a water bottle for your session, as you should stay hydrated after your session. You’ll be able to place your personal items in a complimentary locker during your session . We don’t allow electronic devices in the salt room.

What should I expect during a session?

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your session. When you arrive, our hostess will show you to a salt room where you’ll have your choice of comfortable beach seating. The soft lighting and calm ocean sounds will cater to your senses as you unwind. The room is kept between 68-75 degrees. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and breathe. (And if you happen to doze off, we’ll never tell.)

May we bring snacks or drinks to the session?

Yes, some guests bring a small cooler with a few beach treats while they relax. We want you to rest and enjoy yourself, so please make yourself at home while you’re here.

What should I wear?

Most guests wear comfortable yoga type clothes to their session. Some prefer to wear a swimsuit. (After all, they are at the beach!) The more skin that is exposed to the therapy, the more you’ll feel the softness.

Will I be gritty or need a shower after the therapy?

No, the salt is so fine that it doesn’t leave a gritty feeling on your skin. This is dry therapy, unlike the wet sandy beach, so it doesn’t leave a filmy layer. We don’t recommend wearing corrosive jewelry or watches.

What happens at the end of the session?

Like most guests, you’ll probably say, “It’s over already?” Sadly, all good things must come to an end. When your session is over, we’ll turn on a fan and open the door. You’ll collect your things, we’ll cry a little tear as we say goodbye, and you’ll be on your newly refreshed way. Be sure to drink plenty of water after the session to flush out any toxins from your body and skin.

Don’t rush off though – browse through our boutique on your way out and pick up a few souvenirs to remember us ‘til next time.

Are there cases where halotherapy should be avoided?

As with any treatment, clients with any serious health conditions, kidney or liver disease, or women who are pregnant should always check with your doctor first. Salt therapy is not advisable for those undergoing chemotherapy.

What if I'm running late for my session?

We don’t allow late entry as we don’t want to disturb other guests in the room. We’ll reschedule your appointment to a later time. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your session to allow enough time to settle in.

What about COVID-19? Is Salt Therapy Still Safe?

We’re watching the situation daily and following the guidelines that are in place. While we pride ourselves on keeping a clean environment, we’re being extra diligent during this time to sanitize the rooms between sessions and limit the number of guests.

The safety of our guests and team is top priority. If you’re not feeling well, are running a fever, or have been exposed to someone who is ill, we kindly ask that you reschedule your visit for another time.
When you’re considering booking a session, please make an informed decision based on the wellness needs of you and your loved ones. We’ll get through this together!
